In this new series (to be done over time - and hopefully given a good name at some point! Leave suggestions, plz ;)), we'll be bringing to you some older MAC goodies, be they cult favourites, rares, or simply oldie-but-goodies. First up, may I present, Y&Kei Lookbox x4!

WOOOO!

Follow up:

Contained in this gorgeous palette are three shadows and a cream colour base. From left to right, the CCB is Soft Mode, and the shadows are Oceanique (Frost), Surreal (Frost) and Motif (Frost).

WOOOO!

Soft Mode is delicious. It's a wonderful CCB with perfect texture; the colour is a soft slightly peachy nude. And when I say nude, I mean for a pale skintone. It's really lovely and gives a nice sheen, no sparkle or glitz or overwhelming shimmer. It dries down nicely on my skin, too! I was pretty impressed that after leaving it for a while, it dried down and stayed put pretty firmly.

The shadows are all smooth and easy to work with. Motif you will find in MAC's permanent line, and it's an orangey-pinky duochrome dealie that will need a good base on my skin to keep it from looking sickly, but would be beautiful on deeper skintones. Surreal has been discontinued somewhat recently, and seems to be smoother in this palette than it was in the perm line! Weird how often that seems to happen, actually. Anyhow, the colour is a beautiful aqua with golden shimmer. Oceanique is the trickiest to describe. It's a light neutral with hints of green, yellow and I don't even know. It's an interesting shade upon close inspection, and I really like it. All three of these as present in the palette are smooth and pigmented - plus, the combination of the colours is actually quite pretty.

WOOOO!

Top: Soft Mode, Oceanique; Bottom: Pompous Blue (not in palette), Motif, Surreal

The outside of the palette is beautiful to me and the text, in case you're wondering/can't read it, says "water the earth". All in all, I love this thing. If I had a postcard version, I'd frame it in a heartbeat and hang it next to my beloved Cult of Cherry mailer.
