Lipstick Storage

Who doesn't want an organized way to organize their lipticks? If you only have a few, it's fine to simply throw them in a bag or a drawer and dig through until you find the one you want, but once you start to amass more than a dozen, this becomes straight up impractical. Face it, no one needs to spend precious minutes of their day searching for that one specific shade when they could be out wearing it!

As such, I present to you my personal method of lipstick storage:

Wait, what? Does that say Bits & Bites!?

Ok, so, it totally does. The insides of this box, however, are a whole lot prettier!

The grid is made up of intersecting cardboard! The cardboard used to construct this "no fry zone" obviously came from snack food boxes. For quite some time, I had the top tray of my traincase stuffed with lipsticks, all jammed in so tightly that they stood up. I hated it, though, because it was so disorganized. I'd still have to scan the rows for the name of the tube I wanted, hoping to spot it quickly amongst the many names of randomly located lipsticks. I looked for a while at the prefabricated lipstick organizers you can get (such as those found at the container store), but it was simply more money than I was willing to spend. I saw the idea where a number of people cut their lipstick boxes in half and taped many of those together, but I'm not a box-saving sort of girl (my pack rat-ism has to have SOME limits!). So, what could one do?

Just what you see here. The plastic container holding it is a Sterilite shoebox drawer that cost me less than $5CAD, and the cardboard was gloriously free (thank you recycling stack!). It took a while to assemble, but was well worth it. Not only does it neatly hold and organize my more than 70 lipsticks (oy veh), it also has room for growth should I wish to accumulate more (errr, putting that on holds for a while). The dividing grid goes all the way to the back of the drawer, which is easily popped out of its frame. That's where I have my backups of Lollipop Loving and So Scarlet (yes, I'm ashamed to say I own more than one of the same thing).

So, what do you think? How do you store your lipsticks? Any questions? Hit up the comments!
