Badgal Blue - Flakier Than French Pastry

Why, hello there! I seem to be permitted to sneak online for a bit. Oi veh. I'd like to thank those of you who are crazy enough to put up with these shenanigans and keep checking in with the blog - if I could send you all cookies (the yummy kind), I totally would! Unfortunately, that would cost a small fortune in postage. :p Anyhow, I thought I'd tell you about my experiences with Benefit's Badgal Blue mascara. Look, there I am wearing it! :D

First off, let me just say I've never seen my lashes as fanned out and pushed up by the application of a mascara as with this! Even my boyfriend could tell (dude!). That effect didn't last, but my lashes pretty much refuse to hold a curl or whatnot. The blue colour was subtle, but pretty. I really like it, actually; it certainly wouldn't be my go-to instead of black, but it's nice for a change.

Unfortunately, the things I liked about badgal blue pretty much end there.

Follow up:

This brush is huge. While I credit this for the fanning of my lashes, it also means I can't get in to the lashes' roots, which results in parts of my lashes still having shadow fallout on them. Holy unfinished look, yo! Ick. Also, I find the brush to be so large that it is unwieldy and I can't get it to really grab my lashes, which means it's pretty miserable trying to thoroughly and evenly coat my lashes. It took about a million and twenty tries to get my lashes mascara'd and showing the blue, and even then I had to comb them after because it looked clumpy and crusty (ew!!).

This mascara formula is much drier than I like; I can not see a tube making it through a full three months, but as I've not tried that I can't be certain. And, uh, I don't care to try. Furthermore, this is the flakiest mascara I've ever tried. Within a few hours of application, I had flakes smattered like blue freckles across my cheeks. Honestly, if I wanted blue freckles, I'd draw them on, but it's really not the look I'm going for. I prefer for my mascara to stay on my lashes and for flakiness to be reserved for any pastries I nosh on.

All in all? Power to those who like this mascara, but I absolutely can't count myself amongst their numbers. The colour is nice, but not nice enough for me to deal with the crappy formula and awful brush. :(

On a happier note, I've finished growing out my brows and I've reshaped them pretty much to my satisfaction. It's not a huge difference, but I certainly appreciate the change. you'll probably only have to put up with something like one more post with excessively hairy brows. :D
