Living in a Haze of Purple...

Time for more swatches! Let's go over the other palette I showed you, shall we?

Lavender Sky, Plum, Violet, Dear
Lavender Sky, being a veluxe pearl, is incredibly easy to work with. Great medium, very warm purple. Plum, I've heard a lot of people complain about? I have no issues, and quite like it! Violet, Dear is pretty, but I hope you have patience, because it's one of those velvets that requires piling on to get any colour. Great over something like Mauvism paint!

Follow up:

Stomp, Illegal Cargo, Lotusland
Stomp is an old school MAC shadow. Love, love the colour! Very easy to work with and fantastic payoff. Illegal Cargo is a great muted shade of purple, but if you can't find it you can always look into Shale from the permanent line. Lotusland... is hit or miss. Starflash shadows from the first batch were crazy inconsistent, with different pans of the same shade being completely from each other in terms of payoff. Luckily, I got a 'good' pan of this, so I quite enjoy it. It's not the frostiest of starflashes, but I like that.

Nocturnelle, Leisuretime, Romping
Nocturenelle leaves me feeling very "meh". It's a pretty colour, but you have to do a lot of layering to get good colour. I don't use it much as a result. Leisuretime, on the other hand, is perfect. The incredible payoff and silky smooth texture complement the gorgeous colour perfectly - one of my absolute favourite warm purples!! Romping is fun. Can you tell I'm a sucker for duochromes yet?

Fig. 1, Satellite Dreams, Trax
Fig. 1 is a matte2, so you know it's awesome (well, ok, there are a couple exceptions in terms of some matte2s sucking, but this isn't one of them!). Satellite Dreams is an unremarkable medium purple. Honestly? This bores me; I feel like it's nothing special. Trax is pretty with the yummy sparkles. I find they help to add visual interest! :D

Beauty Marked, Intoxicate
Sorry this one is so blurry, yo. Intoxicate is a veluxe and, as such, I obviously automatically love it. Oops. Beauty Marked is gorgeous when used over the right base, so that it actually shows up like it is in the pot. Sigh.

Have you tried Beauty Marked over Black CCB?

Christy, I have not. If I want to wear Beauty Marked, I generally layer it over Mangomix shadestick or something like that. I find Mangomix does a beautiful job of letting Beauty Marked show true to how it appears in the pot. I don't have Black CCB, truth be told!
