A Purple Pout for Pennies!

Look! Purple lips! Sorry about the couple of flakies. :p This, unlike the last purple lip product featured, is a warmer purple and as such much easier to wear.

What is it, you say?

Follow up:

This, my friends, is a Sephora slim lip pencil in pale violet (139).

Let's talk about this, shall we?

First of all, if you've never seen a Sephora slim pencil in person, you should be aware that they're pretty small. However, at the current going price of $3.50, it's not particularly difficult to swallow the price tag. Furthermore, most people aren't going to wear purple lips terribly often, so this is a good way to have the colour on hand if you just... get that itch, you know? Well, ok, maybe you don't get this random itch to wear purple lips from time to time, but I won't hold it against you! :D

Being a pencil, it's really easy to line and fill in the lips - and touch ups are ridiculously easy! I personally enjoy the colour matte, but you can also easily top it with clear gloss for a shiny purple lip! Or, of course, you can choose a sheer gloss to alter the colour a bit to your liking. Mmm, customization. <3

Do I think this is an amazing lip liner? No, not really. I have drug store liners I like better for that. I don't hate it, either, though, and I am rather fond of the colour. Wear is decent, but not astonishing. I definitely favour it as a fill rather than as a proper liner intended to extend the wear of my lip colour.

Please forgive the sloppiness of the gloss application!

So, there you have it: an inexpensive purple lip. Let's you go with the trends without breaking the bank, even! And, as we're not magically wealthy over here at Cosmetosaur headquarters, we really appreciate that fact.

What do you think? You feeling this at all? Thoughts on purple lips in general?
