Who Says Money Can't Buy Love? I Disagree!

Meet the new love of my life, and my single biggest makeup purchase ever:

Yes, dear friends, I am that insane. This is the limited edition collector's tin of all 25 shades of Make Up For Ever's aqua eyes pencils. Oh dear goodness. It's no secret I love this pencil formula dearly, and given the price point (particularly during the Family & Friends sale!), it was hard to argue: by having a lovely friend assist a Canadian with a custom purchase during the sale, this set effectively saves me over $300 compared to the price of buying them all individually at full price. Whoa!

If you have a sharp eye for detail, you may notice the pencils pictured on the outside of the tin correspond to the arrangement of the shades inside. Nifty! Rainbow order, not numbers order. Mmm, yum. Now... how about some swatches?

Follow up:

Look at them all, eeeeeep! I'm smitten. Let's go in for some close ups:

I failed to capture the true sparkle of the metallic shades (especially silver!) and missed the shimmer/sheen of some, but the colours are quite true.

According to Sephora's website, the colour names corresponding to the numbers are as follows:

23L: Champagne 13L: Fuschia Pink 11L: Purple
6L: Black Purple 4L: Shimmering Plum 18L: Burgandy
2L: Pearly Brown 19L: Light Brown 24L: Light Taupe
5L: Bronze Green 10L: Bronze 9L: Gold
17L: Pistachio 16L: Green 20L: Forest Green
7L: Turquoise 12L: Blue With Green Highlights 15L: Majorelle Blue
3L: Iridescent Navy Blue 0L: Mat Black 1L: Star Black
21L: Dark Grey 22L: Grey 8L: Silver
14L: White

So what do you think? What did you end up snagging from the sale? Anything? Also, as always, hit me up with any questions!

Sanayhs 25/11/09 @ 16:44

Alicia, in exchange for some money, you too could have a set!
Sanayhs 25/11/09 @ 16:44

Alexandra, I've loved the majority of the MUFE I've gotten. It all has to be obtained by mail, though. Is there anywhere you can order from?
Sanayhs 25/11/09 @ 16:45

Oh. My. Word. When I first saw this, I wanted it right away. They're all so pretty! Jealous!
Shayla [x] 27/11/09 @ 17:20

Sanayhs 28/11/09 @ 00:59

Wow, what a set! I am tempted to get one every time I'm in Sephora but chicken out and grab some other small items instead.
Christy [x] 29/11/09 @ 01:52

Christy, it's such an amazing set. I'd be interested to know if you don't chicken out and go for it some day! :D
