Illamasqua's Liv is Hard to Put a Finger On

Dude, this is a weird colour. It really leaves me scratching my head, mildly perplexed. I can't entirely decide how I feel about it! Illamasqua describes Liv lipstick as ""; to me, Liv is pale and quite cool, yet at the same time surprisingly bright and springy. It's very full coverage, being rather thick and a touch chalky.

I like Liv best applied with a bit of a light hand (to avoid the thick, chalky look) and often with a coloured lip liner and/or some gloss to play with the colour.

Here she's compared to MAC Melrose Mood, which is also very blue-based. Makes it look less like pepto bismol here! In case you're wondering, Liv is also cooler than smashbox Pout, but not at all as blue as something like MAC Fashion Mews.

On the lips! Applied heavily for full impact. I felt a bit silly like this! :D

There you have it! Illamasqua Liv. Whatcha think?

am I weird for really liking this? I think it's gorgeous, but I like melrose mood even more.

Not really my thing, I'm afraid... but it may be because the girl bullies in my old high school wore the same colour and as heavily applied as in your photo - I simply associate this colour lipstick with horrible people! :D

Ashleigh, I think they're both really nifty because they're different from anything else I have! If you like 'em, awesome! :D

Karin, I can definitely understand how that association would turn you away from this lipstick!
