How XTREME Can an X-Ceptional Foundation Be?

Today for your viewing pleasure, I present: GOSH's X-Ceptional Wear foundation. As you can see, it claims to be long wearing and light reflecting. Around these parts, GOSH is a pricier brand found in the drug store, and this particular product will set you back around $20 (or less if you get it on sale like I did!). When some brands cite a shade as Porcelain in the drugstore, my general experience is that they're what porcelain would look like if you buried it in your pot plant's dirt for a while. Not so here! As such, I thought I'd give it a whirl.

Follow up:

First off, I love the packaging. It's plastic, so I won't break it, it's got a small tip so I don't squeeze out too much, and it's not excessively bulky. Huzzah! It also contains something like 1.1 ounces of product compared with the average 1 ounce I find most foundations have (yes, "something like" - I'm not home as I write this! Sorry. :p). So, definite points there. I also love that this is sold in my local chain of drugstores and doesn't break the bank.

The colour match is ok. It's not perfect for me, but not much is! It's respectably pale, yo. The foundation itself is really quite thick and rather tricky to blend. When I tried to apply it with my usual brush it felt almost stiff. It gives me a medium coverage and, in spite of the thickness, doesn't look horrendously obvious on the skin.

The wear of this foundation is mediocre. It is not exceptional by my standards; if you call something X-ceptional Wear, it better wear like iron, dudes! This wears fine if your skin is fairly normal and you don't do anything requiring excess exertion. When my t-zone gets oily, the foundation loses its grip, and I end up with the very unsexy look of spotty foundation because it has worn away from the pores but is still clinging to the spots in between. Do you know the look I mean? It ain't hot. Oh, and as for the light reflecting claim? I haven't noticed it whatsoever.

All in all, this will do the trick if you're looking for a medium coverage drug store foundation to wear to the office for your normal skin. Sounds like a lot of strings, right? Yeah, I think so too. Not bad, GOSH, but it needs work.
