Summer Lovin' With Summer Rose

As if the Liberty of London packaging on this compact of MAC's Summer Rose beauty party weren't enough to sell me on it, the purple tones would do me in. We first saw this shade last spring with the A Rose Romance collection, except it was awkwardly sculpted to look like a "rose"; as a rose, she was pretty in the pan, but super tricky to get colour from! This time?

Follow up:

Suddenly we get colour payoff! Ok, so, it doesn't look impressive in my swatch here, but it's not meant to be super dark (it's a beauty powder, yo). The purple-pink is extremely flattering on my very cool-toned skin, and plenty pigmented enough for me to use as a blush.

Beauty Powders have a range of finishes, from matte to shimmery, but this one is perfection if you ask me. It's mostly matte, but has a beautiful satiny sheen when applied to the skin. I could see a number of lighter skintones being able to use this as blush, and not just the fairest fleshed. I know this collection launched a while ago, but dudes, my love for this product has not diminished.

For once, I'm delighted to meet a shade repromoted so soon!

I am debating whether to get this or Shell Pearl (can't afford both). If I already have Pretty Baby beauty powder and Pink Swoon blush, do I need Summer Rose? Is there another dupe for it?

Karin, this is much more purple and cooler toned than Pretty Baby or Pink Swoon. It's closer to Dame blush, if I recall correctly, but this still has more purple. I wear this a lot more because it makes a good blush for me and I love the satiny finish.

Nia, Thanks! :D It's the orange from China Glaze's Poolside summer collection.
