SunMaita Threader

In my journeys on the internet, I have come across the SunMaita Threader.

SunMaita Threader Kit

This is a complete "system" for all your threading needs! Threading, of course, being a far-from-new hair removal technique. Threading is far from new, but has definitely picked up popularity over recent times. As such, I can't say I'm surprised by this system's appearance, but I would like to say:

Are you bloody kidding me? People have been threading for how long without a silly system?

Quick Lips!

05/25/09, Permalink 04:19:59 am, by OfficerJenny, Categories: General

Want some quick and easy low maintenance lips? Just take a bit of vaseline and a dab of your favorite pigment, and mix them together. A quick and easy way for colour and shine! You can use a little bit of pigment for sheer colour, or a lot for a more opaque, lipstick like finish.

Some of my personal favorites are: Pink Bronze, Pink Pearl, Basic Red, Heritage Rouge, Lovely Lily, and Vanilla.

Try them out for yourself! Or even mix pigments for a more unique shade!

Sanayhs would like to add that some of these pigments (Lovely Lily for example) may not officially be lip safe, so be sure to use your own discretion in selecting a pigment for your pout!

Wee Haul

First up, I have to say my internet connexion has been a disaster lately. As such, if I seem like I'm MIA? That's why! Very frustrating. Anyhow, I thought I'd show you what I decided to pick up last night at MAC. It's a small haul compared to some you can see people show off, but truthfully I've not spent this much at retail in many months. I either seek really good deals in the online communities or just live without!

What did I get? Bright Future eyeshadow, Brave New Bronze lipstick, Cakeshop shadestick and Flourishing eyeshadow propan. Want swatches?

Any Requests?

23/05/09, Permalink 03:21:56 pm, by Sanayhs, Categories: General

If there's anything at MAC you'd like me to compare, I'm headed there after work tonight! Short notice, but leave any requests here within the next 2.5 hours or so and I'll see it before I trot over. ;)

Ulta Freebies

I get a lot of emails and don't always pay attention, but this seems like a decent deal:

$25 is VERY easy to spend, and who doesn't love trying new things!? Just a thought, yo. ;)

Illamasqua Liquid Liner

Remember this?:

Liner brush

Nia recently updated me to let me know that Illamasqua replaced the liquid liner she bought. The brush on the new one is much better and works nicely. All good to go! Thought you all should know. ;)

Keeping Track

When you start to accumulate of any one sort of thing, it only makes sense that it becomes more difficult to keep track of. Some of us (myself included) have accumulated quite a quantity of makeup. So then... how do you keep from buying the same things over and over? How the hell do you know what you have?

One option is to have an insane memory and keep track of everything that way... or, you could create an inventory.

Spreadsheet of Doom!

Concealer Woes

05/05/09, Permalink 09:19:02 pm, by Sanayhs, Categories: General

Hi there! Sleepy, camera-less girl reporting. Nothing too exciting today. My camera is driving me nuts, especially since right now I can't even find the battery charger so I can feed the damn thing. This means that I can't even play with it, let alone try to upload things to my computer (which it wasn't doing anyway, so really, how much of a loss is it?). So... you're in for a rant!

In my latest attempt to find a concealer pale and pinky-toned enough for my face (without having TOO MUCH colour to it), I've turned to Estee Lauder. Smoothing cream concealer is the product at large, in the palest shade (duh). Now, let me say first of all that the consistency is lovely, being a fluid cream that I can blend easily. It's decently pigmented (can someone tell me what the point is of super sheer concealer!?) and has respectable lasting power. It has a satiny finish and it doesn't tend to settle into lines under my eyes. It's actually very nice as under eye concealer.

The problem? It gets darker on me. I seem to have this problem with a lot of concealers (AS IF I FRIGGING NEED THAT). Does anyone else!? So, sure, this covers up my zits ok and it's not terribly too dark/not pink enough, but... I end up with these dark blotches on my face. UGH. THANKS "CONCEALER". It seems most concealers do this to me, though, not to mention a bunch of them look dry and cakey because I'm not terribly oily.

Here's my question: do concealers do this on other people? Or is it just my mutant body chemistry in action again? And when you set with powder, do concealers tend to turn dark orange on you? (Some of them react instantly to powder on me... wow!)

Technical Troubles

29/04/09, Permalink 10:23:16 pm, by Sanayhs, Categories: General, FOTD

So, lucky me, my camera hates life. This means that the videos and photos I have taken over the past few days are just... not here. The files are on my camera, but when I try to transfer them to the computer, I just end up with named files with a total size of 0 kb. Hmm... working on that. I'm hoping to correct this ASAP so that I can post more videos, oooh!

In the meantime, if you can forgive ungroomed brows (since corrected!), here's a quick shot of something I did for Easter with my family:

Soft, pretty, quick. I believe I used Unorthodox and Moon's Reflection from MAC and MUFE 92. Also, either Solar White or Femme-Fi from MAC. If there were other shadows, I don't remember! Sorry. I can, however, tell you the liner is Lithograph fluidline. :)Easter eyes
