NOTD: China Glaze OMG![]() This photo doesn't even begin to do this glorious polish justice (this photo makes it look dull and lifeless). A deliciously smooth, perfect silver holographic that I could wear indefinitely. It catches the entire rainbow and I keep staring at it. It doesn't make my hands look like death, either! Hurray! Loves it to death. NOTD: China Glaze OMG![]() This photo doesn't even begin to do this glorious polish justice. A deliciously smooth, perfect silver holographic that I could wear indefinitely. It catches the entire rainbow and I keep staring at it. It doesn't make my hands look like death, either! Hurray! Loves it to death. A NOTD and EOTD From A Worked-Out Girl!Hey all. If you follow my twitter, you may have caught on that I've been working a fair bit lately. Put in 13 hours yesterday, woo! Ahaha. We've been super busy. Still, I haven't forgotten about you all! Just haven't had time to get on here to post. ![]() You'll have to forgive me, but I ended up wearing the same nail colour for four days straight, when I start getting serious chipping after two. Eeek! Still, I love this colour. China Glaze's Heli-Yum from the spring Up & Away collection is... incredible. A delicious raspberry pink that is absolute perfection in consistency and really only needs one coat. Um, dude! It works well enough with my skintone, too. So, nail polish wears, whatever. But... what does one's eye makeup look like after a thirteen hour work day? NOTD: China Glaze Re-Fresh MintThere are a bajillion mint cremes out there, yes, I know. I, however, have resisted most of them, simply due to hating the formula, price, unavailability or who knows what. As such, this is the first truly mint green creme to find its way into my growing collection. ![]() Unlike Essie's Mint Candy Apple (which I consider to be a pastel aqua), this is green - nifty! Still blue enough to be mint, but yellow enough to be distinctly green, light, but still dense enough to pack a punch. I believe this was only two coats? If it was three, you can scold me later. It's a touch thick, but generally pretty decent to apply. It also doesn't make my hands look nearly as deathly as Lemon Fizz! So, dudes, if you've been looking for an affordable, attainable mint GREEN, I definitely recommend giving this one a shot. NOTD: China Glaze Lemon FizzDudes, if a ninja asks something of you, you better think about doing it! So when a certain nail ninja asked to see China Glaze's Lemon Fizz, I happily obliged: ![]() Against my pale, cool skin, it's not the most flattering shade, as my fingers start to take on the colour of ripe tomatoes. Still, I loves it! It's not one of those soft, powdery pastels - she's still got some oomph. It took me three coats to get everything opaque, but application was surprisingly easy given the pale yellow hue. If you've ever used a pale yellow in the past, it probably sucked pretty hard, right? This is a bit thick and a mite tricky to get even, but really? It doesn't bother me much at all! There's just a hint of green to it, but not as much as this picture is showing. Also, not entirely dry here and no top coat, so she's not at her glossiest. Sonic Bloom Steals My Heart Faster Than a HedgehogToday I'm bringing you another NOTD, plus a bonus picture of my rack! Woooo! ![]() Isn't she gorgeous? A turquoisey-blue base that flashes green in direct light and a muted pink in low light, this polish reminds me a bit of a pearl, and is totally captivating. You think it looks hot on the nail? The bottle is even better! NOTD: Texture Ahoy!Guys, I'm in love with this. Seriously, though. Super inexpensive, too, being made with two shades of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polish: a silver called Celeb City, and a sheer blue glitter called Shooting Star. ![]() Yes, the tips are peeking out due to shrinkage because I slapped a ton of coats of stuff on before applying a quick-dry top coat. Oops! You're looking at base coat, 2 coats of celeb city, something like 3 coats of shooting star, a layer of quick dry top coat and then a layer or two of nutra-nail triple power strengthener. Oh baby! Still, shockingly chip resistant. And that TEXTURE! Let's get a close up: NOTD: Rimmel Green With EnvyThis is... not what I think of when I think of green. At all. Regardless of that, it's pretty! ![]() A glowy turquoise shade, Green with Envy isn't terribly unique, but I do enjoy it. This took 2-3 coats (depends on your thickness/personal preference) and it applied easily. It's also wearing quite well: a day and a half later, I don't even have tip wear (and after this picture, I painted a few nails with matte top coat!). NOTD: OPI Mod About YouI've been lusting something fierce over China Glaze's Up and Away collection since I first saw it popping up on the interwebs. I'm trying in vain to convince myself I don't need the entire collection, so I painted my tips the other day with a shimmerless light, cool pink from OPI: Mod About You. ![]() This really has done nothing but refuel my desire for all those yummy cremes, so, bit of a fail in that sense. I'm digging this, and it rather amuses me that my boyfriend is confused to see me with this pink on my nails (he is used to my penchant for black cremes and dark, vampy shades). Hee hee! NOTD: China Glaze Midnight RideI'd like you to meet the shade that was my very first China Glaze polish: Midnight Ride. A deep, dark blackened purple that shimmers when the light catches it. In low light, it can be mistaken for a shade of black. It's a bit of a beast to try to capture to my satisfaction, but here's what I've got for you: ![]() I find application of this deliciously smooth and even, and the polish is pleasantly pigmented. Two coats makes for a rich opacity, but one thick coat could suffice in a hurry. As with all my China Glaze polishes, it wears well. I come back to this shade again and again, for it offers the deep vampy appeal of a black, yet the purple gives it extra life (and looks better against my skin - score!). So much love, dudes. So much love. |
