Groovin' With SatsumaSometimes my skin gets a touch thirsty below the neck, yo. Especially my lower legs and elbows. Yeesh! So, why not butter them up? ![]() Say hello to the body shop's body butter in Satsuma. She and I have been buds lately. Lustin' for the Heat![]() Oooh, look, pretty glosses! I found a couple of Urban Decay's Ultraglide lipglosses at my local Winner's recently for super cheap. How could I resist? They shimmer and sparkle and offer good pigmentation. I don't love the long, skinny tubes, but I appreciate that they are cleanable squeezy tubes! The texture is a bit thick, but it means it wears for a decent length of time. Hey, works for me! Concealer In A Jar![]() Heyyyy! Let's talk about concealer, yo: I like it pigmented, blendable and plentiful. Affordable helps, too. All the better is if it actually matches my skin, but I don't really expect that from many lines. How does it fare? UD Stardust Leaves Me Dazzled![]() So, a little while ago, Urban Decay gave us a new shadow formula: stardust. Promising to be super sparkly with no fallout, I can tell you I was sure curious to try them! Well, as you can see, the two purples have found their ways into a dino's domain, and I've spent the past few days playing with them so I can give you my full thoughts. Interested? From Our Lips: Cosmetosaur Gets Down & Dirty Viva Glam StyleDude, with two new Viva Glam lipsticks hitting the stores, I couldn't not check them out! Plus, they're lustres, which just so happen to be one of my favourite MAC lipstick formula. If you don't know about MAC's Viva Glam campaign, you need to listen up: through the sale of Viva Glam products, they've raised over $150 million for people living with HIV/AIDS. Some companies may have a product that they give a percentage of the sale price to charity, or maybe even all the profit - but MAC takes this the step further by giving every cent of the sales price. That's something that truly grabs this dino's heart. ![]() This latest campaign has the names of Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga attached to it, each with a shade named after them. These shades will be available for the next year, and I definitely recommend stocking up. ![]() Nice touch having their signatures on the boxes and tubes, right? Right. So, swatches--! EcoTools Helps Blend Away My Fears![]() So, by now, a whole lot of beauty addicts have learned that EcoTools make some very nice affordable brushes. This is very true, dudes! However, today I want to focus on one brush from them in particular: the blending brush. This little dude came in the basic five piece set with a concealer brush, blush/powder brush, mini kabuki and travel pouch. He's denser than a MAC 224, yet fluffier than a 217 - nifty middle ground, yo! Plus, the fact that he's made of synthetic fibres means he's vegan friendly and, most important to me, does not absorb cream products. Sculpted Cheeks Make Me Sing Like A California Raisin![]() I have a confession to make: I tend to be a bit of a snob when it comes to makeup. I'm not saying I won't use less expensive products, but I tend to be sceptical towards them - particularly powder products. I hear a lot of good things about NYX products, but my personal experience has been pretty hit or miss. This is my first time giving a NYX blush a whirl, and I've got to say: I'm pretty pleased! Make Up For Ever's Super Mate Deserves a CapeSo, lately with this charming winter weather and overheated dry buildings, my skin has been getting cranky. It's been getting dried out, and, to compensate, producing a heck of a lot more oil. Eek! Oily isn't cute! So, what's a girl to do? Powder that mess down! ![]() For this cause, I turn to my favourite loose powder - Make Up For Ever's Super Mate. Getting Passionate About PeachHaving heard and read many raves for Yves Saint Laurent's Rouge Volupte line of lipsticks, I knew I could only hold out so long before I finally captured one for my very own. At $34USD plus tax, this baby isn't just a lip colour - it's a bloody investment. ![]() But the question is: is it worth it? Does it live up to the hype? Creamy Hands All Day LongY'know a while ago I mentioned I adore the Neutrogena Norwegian formula hand cream for when my hands are wrecked, but I like to keep something less heavy duty around, too? This is that other thing! ![]() The Lamas Beauty Spa Sensuals 24 hour hand cream has no parabens if that concerns you, and even has some "certified organic botanicals"! Ahem. If you like that sort of thing, awesome, but I'm personally pretty indifferent. What I care about? The performance! |
