NOTD: Rimmel "Mania"

06/11/09, Permalink 09:40:57 pm, by Sanayhs, Categories: Nails

I found a few polishes I've had since high school the other day, and simply had to repaint in lieu of this. I don't know where the rest of my Rimmels went (damn it!), but this one, my favourite, was there:

This is one of the 60 Seconds fast drying shades, in 877 Mania. This is still applying pretty damn well for its age, and the colour is a ridiculously gorgeous dark teal/green duochrome. I took a couple pictures before cleaning up my tips (I'm so bad at painting, haha), and of course those are the ones that show the colour better. Sorry, yo! :p

This one is without flash...

MAC Pigments - Part 2

01/10/09, Permalink 10:16:12 am, by Sanayhs, Categories: Swatches

Same deal as yesterday, dudes. No base, top row applied dry, bottom applied wet. Now for colours!!!

Steel Blue, Forest Green, Teal, Teal
Ok, so, Steel Blue. Crazy chunky, frigging ton of fallout used dry. Used wet? It is GLORIOUS! Superbly smooth golden blue hotness. Now, the teals. Way to be consistent, MAC. Usually the vials of pigments match their jar friends, but not here! As you can see, the Teal released in a vial with Little Darlings last holiday season does not match up to the permanent version at all. Yikes.

My MUFE shadow collection is small, but beloved. I have a ten pan palette with these all lovingly tucked inside, and felt I ought to share my babies with you.

I haven't posted in a few days it's so hot upstairs I barely come on my computer. I just waste my day playing Nintendo DS or watching tv. Yes, i'm not a very good role model. Anyway I swatched my go to vacation palette this and Macs Spiced Chocolate quad are my two saviors on trips.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils

These eyeliners are precious to me. They are my go to eyeliners for fun colorful looks or more sophisticated looks. These liners do it all and then some. They are creamy, great for blending (after applying you have about 30 seconds), then they dry to a long-lasting finish that won't budge. They come in so many colors that I still don't own them all but i'm working on it.

Love that Look Swatches & Dupes

24/07/09, Permalink 10:56:33 pm, by Ally, Categories: Swatches, Reviews

Love that Look released a week early, so rain or shine I went to my Mac counter. I swatched everything and was very careful driving home and not rubbing my arms against stuff...I'm pretty sure people think i'm more crazy now. Anyway these are the best swatches I can do, it hasn't stopped raining all week. So no sun equals less impressive swatches. I find these are pretty accurate. I also dd some dupes so you guys can try to save money.

Sephora by OPI, Mermaid In the Shade Collection

Permalink 12:55:46 am, by Ally, Categories: Swatches, Reviews

Sephora launched a beautiful collection of nail polishes inspired by the mediterranean island of Capri this spring and my boyfriend picked me up 2 colors while he was in New York. He bought me Mermaid to Order which is a gorgeous shimmering deep green blue and Underwater Fantasy which is described as shimmering light cornflower blue.

Hopefully no one is grossed out by feet because my first swatch is on my toes. Though i'm told my feet are adorable.

This color is awesome I love the sheen and shimmer. I remember seeing it advertised and e-mailing my boyfriend to pick me up this color before any other. So not disapointed. I wore it through out my whole vacation and it only started to chip at the end. This is 2 coats on my toes.

More Swatches Because I'm Just That Lame

03/07/09, Permalink 02:23:56 pm, by Sanayhs, Categories: Swatches

Hands down out of these, the Electric quad is my favourite. Also, I may be the only one to feel this way, but I think vertigo is mildly hilarious.

Some of the shades from the Tokidoki collab quads (Modella and Celebrita) need to be used with a stiff brush - a soft one like, say, a MAC 239 won't get you far ("WHERE IS THE PAYOFF!?"). As you can see, though, when applied with something firmer, they show up fine. The pale yellow in the Modella quad almost has this fun green iridescence to it. The whitish shade from Celebrita has a gentle pink iridescence to it. Basically, fun stuff, dudes. My apologies that the FOTDs I had planned for this week and other stuff have simply not come to fruition. I feel frigging lame.

Gender swatch and a bit of random

22/06/09, Permalink 03:18:28 pm, by Sanayhs, Categories: Swatches

Sloppy, but that's how Illamasqua's intense lipgloss "Gender" looks on lips. Frigging opaque, hey?

A couple other things I'm hooked on:

Cheek blush (my perfect peach) and Sally Hansen's Insta-dri polish in Jumping Jade - I love the colour.

I'm a bit agitated right now as an order placed during the sale showed up at my place today, with precisely HALF of the items missing in action. This displeasures me and perplexes me, as I find it difficult to understand how one could miss several items in packing something. Anyhow, hopefully I'll be less grumpy ere long.

Also, this just makes me shake my head. Am I the only one not loving the Twilight insanity!?
